PLANET VEREM

Planet Verem is a world where all mining becomes sustainable using green energy and leaving the smallest carbon footprint possible.

We believe we have to make changes and spearhead new ideas and technology so that even when we are taking from what mother earth has to give us, we do so in the most eco-friendly way possible.

GREEN GOVERNANCE

The Verem Dao is responsible for governing the community by making decisions in which all VereMiners can participate. Implementing “Green Initiative” plans are decided by voting on policies that are presented on the Verem Dao that are analysed by Verem’s team of collaborators.

Understanding and contributing towards reducing environmental impact and making mining practices more sustainable is an important part of Verem’s Green Initiative program.

SUSTAINABLE SOLUTIONS

There are many forms that mining practices can be managed and modernized to reach the Green Initiative goals.

INNOVATION AND TECHNOLOGY

Investing in new technologies can improve the extraction processes and reduce the mines environmental footprint, while improving safety.

Adopting low-emission technologies and practices, such as solar panels for operations, electric vehicles and equipment, significantly reduces greenhouse gas emissions as well as improves fuel efficiency.

Utilizing renewable energy sources like solar or wind can drastically reduce the carbon footprint of mining operations. Verem’s partner mines located in sunny and windy regions can modernize installations by installing solar panels and wind turbines to power their activities, cutting down on greenhouse gas emissions

BIODIVERSITY CONSERVATION

This can be achieved by protecting local flora and fauna through understanding the natural wildlife found in each region and implementing biodiversity action plans that help preserve their ecosystems. These plans must include measures to avoid habitat destruction and support species relocation when required.

REDIRECT AND RECYCLE

Implementing strategies to reduce waste production of all extracted materials and promote recycling within mining operations is crucial. Extracted materials should be redirected, when possible, to other industries. For example, utilizing waste rock for construction purposes, thus minimizing the volume of waste and promoting a circular economy.

This redirecting and recycling minimizes the impact of all waste produced by the mining process and greatly reduces the environmental footprint.

Community Engagement and Development

Working closely with local communities to understand their needs, ensuring that mining activities provide economic and social benefits is crucial for sustainable mining. Community development programs, fair compensation, and transparent communication build trust and support for mining projects.
